The scope and reach of event security guards

Security guards come in many different shapes, sizes, and job details. When looking at event security guards, there is a vast range of events that a guard could provide security for and each job description varies depending on the scope and reach of the security service and event.

Security guard services are present to provide top-of-the-notch security for all parties involved. In most cases, their services are used for events and the events that these services are often provided for are limitless. Let’s take a look further at events that require security services.

1.   Sport Events
Whether it happens to be a football (soccer) game or a basketball game, having security present throughout the game is of extreme importance. With the incident that happened at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, United Kingdom, having tight security at a concert and a music festival is extremely important. Having just the local police force and local security guards might not be enough to protect both the crowd and the artist from threats such as a bomb threat, a terror threat, or disasters.

With the case of music festivals, private security is there to maintain order in the case of protecting the crowd from individuals who consume illegal substances and protect the crowd from going overboard.

3.   Art exhibitions
Curating and displaying priceless art in artsy venues can be really risky, and this is why security services can often be seen being used at these types of events. Having security present at an art exhibition is important to protect both the artist and the art from threats such as stealing or vandalism.

Art can be very subjective, and not everyone will agree with the subject of the painting. With security present, it can prevent people from getting physically outraged at the piece of art and prevent people from vandalizing the art.

Weddings
Weddings, especially Indian weddings, often require some level of security. The security present there isn’t to deter guests but mainly to protect the event against “wedding-crashers”.

The security at these events is often situated outside the hall, at the entrance to the venue, and does a good job of double-checking who is invited and who isn’t.

You could say that this type of security resembles bouncers because they maintain order for an event and protect the host/hostess from unwanted guests. With their support, a major event such as a wedding can easily be completed without hiccups.
